Getting to Bremerhaven

I need the first weekend in Jan get to Bremerhaven to the port to get my car. What would be the easiest way to fly as close as I can and then take a train? Any other way of getting there?

When I was young there existed a thing called map. I not fully sure this still exsits. However, I am aware of rumours that today a thing like the Internet exists. And maybe typing in www.bremerhaven.de would be of certain help. For guests with only rudimentary knowledge of non-English languages they even provide an English version easily to be identified by the Union Jack.

?
Well a sarcastic answer is not what I'm looking for as I know this internet is around.
I was wondering what would be the easiest and hassle free way to get there with maybe some personal knowledge.
As Looking around, hamburg to Bremerhaven is about a 2.5hr train. Koln and Berlin to there is about 4 or so hrs by train, but if it is easier to get to the train station and easier and faster to get to Berlin or Koln than Hamburg, then I can use that. I'm coming from Krakow, Poland

Fly to HAM/BRE and rent a car (40-50EUR) which you can return fairly close to the port. Hertz offers a pickup service for 5-10EUR where they will pick up your rental car from whereever you tell them to.

An answer might have been less sarcastic if you had cared to tell the community that you plan to fly in from Krakow. Your questions restricts to "Hey, I need to go to Bremerhaven. How can I get there". And own research might be a burden, but is certainly educating.

And a quick look on the map or the internet would have shown you that there is an airport in Bremen allowing easy connections via FRA and MUC. A short check on Expedia would have told you that the LO/LH codeshare from Krakow is available for 443 Euro. It takes 10 minutes from BRE to Bremen Hbf by Tram and from there 52 minutes to Bremerhaven. Alternatively a taxi should get you from Bremen into Bremerhaven for about 80 Euro.

And you can certainly take the night train from Krakow Glowny to Berlin and connect there. It takes about 17 hours.

If you think about alternativ routes, boat could be considered.

Not too bad if they won't mind picking up the rental at the port when I pick up my car there.
If not, looks like I might take train into Bremerhaven from either HAM or BRE. From the train station in Bremerhaven I could just grab a cab to port.

Most scenic was might be flight or boat from Hamburg to Bremerhaven via Helgoland.

Isn't that a bit like travelling from New York to Boston via San Francisco?

Normally I wouldn't mind it, but this time I have to be in early in the AM at port to get the car

Why not follow the advise from oliver2002 and take a rental car?

"early AM"! From HAM to train station to Bremen to Bremerhaven, my guess would be 4 hours. From BRE to Bremen Hbf to Bremerhaven 2 hours.

However, to go by rental car is also no fun:
-HAM - Autobahn - Elbtunnel (should be free early AM) - Autobahn Bremen, Bremerhaven, my guess 3 hours.
-BRE - through the city of Bremen, pass Weser river - Autobahn to Bremerhaven, my guess 2 hours.

And it can be done faster, esp. from HAM. Morning rushhour is much worse if heading to Hamburg from the south. The ride to Bremen should be an easy one. I almost never drive longer than 2 hours from Hamburg to Bremerhaven.

Too bad, the new Centralwings nonstop-service KRK-HAM will only start at April 1st. They are offering very good prices actually.

Thanks all, and Hertz won't have a problem picking up the car there? What about Sixt?
