According to the response to my other thread about arrivals, I got the impression that using the lounge to take a shower would mean we'd be taking our chances with our luggage. Is there a reliable way to ensure that it is secured while we're using the first class lounge at FRA?

Just let the FCL staff know and they will call the staff of the lost and found who take your luggage of the belt and store it near the lost luggage counter.

I never had a problem then again I had a backpack. The area's secure: Only scummy fellow pax/customs agents/baggage handlers could take it in theory.

I believe you refer to your checked luggage? No. The FCL is in the security area and there is no way back (at least no way known to me) from the luggage area into the security area without a FRA boarding pass. You have to trust into the lounge staff as Oliver2002 sugested.
