No, no, no.
The lack of true class and service in this hotel has been dicussed here already and the RC Berlin has still NOT figured out, what good service is about - as I found out two weeks ago. The Regent is by FAR the hotel with the best service in Berlin.

The RC is not that bad - beside the fact that the Potsdamer Platz location is not a place where I like to be. I could agree that the Regent is SOMEHOW the best BIG hotel with the best service in Berlin MITTE (not sure about the new Hotel de Rome). A really nice place is the "old" Regent Schlosshotel im Grunewald.

Think it depends on what you want to do. I found the Potsdamer Platz location was fine - kind of in the middle of the places where we spent most of our time (so it was a short cab ride in either direction). Also - I liked the Sony Center. Not the best food in the world - but it was exciting to see so many people out and about on lovely spring nights. Robyn

P.S. It was an easy walk to the Brandenburg Gate area (which has a lot of things that tourists like me want to see).

I read on an entertainment website that Tom Cruise (Mapother) and family are occupying the top two floors of the Regent while filming his current movie, and that "the hotel performed substantial remodeling" at the actor's direction, including the removal of walls, etc").

I wonder if the modifications are temporary, or if they will remain after Mapother and his party leave?

And I wonder how this question fits in the RC Berlin Thread?
I think there is a thread about small gay people remodeling entire hotel floors somewhere here on FT.

Sorry about that - I didn't want to start a new thread, and search revealed this to be the most current thread with mention of the Regent.

Although, it might point to an interesting factor - that 5* occupancy in Berlin is low enough that one of the top properties in the city permitted its two most desirable floors (where many of the deluxe rooms were probably located) to be gutted for this purpose.
