For some reason, the bottled beer I bring back from Germany always tastes a little better than the stuff you can buy here in the states.
You should taste austrian beer - much better than german !!

Not trying to perpetuate the Austro-Bavarian feud, which culminated in the 1980s Leberkndel incident (when Austrian customs regulations reclassified Bavarian liver dumplings as dog food), but -- no, it isn't.

I've found that it is very similar to Bavarian beers (big surprise), with the exception of Samiclaus. I've tried Zipfer, Stiegl, Ottakringer, Gsser and a few others.

Guess I thought the city with be drab. I thought there might be homeless people and lots of graffiti. When I saw Checkpoint Charlie those photos are so recent I can't believe how the city has morphed into a very cosmopolitan city. I was also running around the city by myself most days and that's not normally what I do in any city.

In terms of the city itself, I prefer Berlin to Munich. For a trip which includes excursions into the surrounding area though, Munich is better.
