I have used a taxi once or twice in Berlin when arriving at the old airport (Tegel) and not wanting to use the bus. The transit system is extensive (S Bahn, U Bahn, Bus, Tram) and its easy to get anywhere you want to go.

Uber simply summoned a taxi when I was there, It might have changed. But with the new airport connected via S Bahn, I don't think I will incur the expense.

I dont think Lyft has service outside the US/Canada. While I have Uber and installed Bolt, I never actually used them in Berlin. The public transportation system is excellent and I just used U-Bahn and S-Bahn. The BVG app is easy to use and lets you find how to get from A to B and you can buy the ticket right in the app (incl. day passes).

I disagree. By far cheaper. In particular Bolt, I normally stay at the InterContinental with only the number 200 bus available. Bolt from there to the main station is in the range of 8 EUR, Taxi in the range of 15 EUR.
