Dusseldorf Restaurants

Hi All, sorry if this isn't the right place to ask - but do you all have any recommendations for "hip" or "cool" restaurants in Dusseldorf?

United747 May I ask, what did you understand by "cool" and "hip"?

Interesting location? High end fusion kitchen?

"Hip" and "cool" sound more like Stresemannstrae to me. Possibly even Velvet.

First, I feel obligated to mention Cologne as a general alternative!
Apart from that local banter, we do visit Dsseldorf a lot and we have recently visited some restaurants, which one can find "hip" (at least some food bloggers do, whatever their definition might be). The interesting ones are, from the top of my mind:
But a more detailed description of "hip and cool" might be helpful ... ;-)

Thank you all for your replies - I will certainly take a look at those recommendations!

As for hip and cool, Im thinking Bib Gourmand-type places that have high quality food (maybe not starred) but with an energetic atmosphere.

But also open to any suggestions!

Fritzi's wife Franzi had a star until last year, but is very relaxed. It lost its star last year after the chef left shortly before the Michelin went to press. I was eating there after the change and could not see any deterioration.
