Any recent departures from CGN?
Anyone fly out of CGN recently? Is the airport a disaster like some of the other ones or relatively normal? I have a flight out next week and just want to know if I need to plan extra time to get there before the flight or not.

A colleague of mine had a flight out of CGN last week and said the airport was a complete mess. Arrived >2h before his flight and almost missed it.
Granted this was on a Friday afternoon which is likely quite a busy time, but still, it's one data point.

Friday security lines > 3hrs
Saturday > 4hrs. I personally know people who were HBO, arrived 4 hours before departure having done OLCI, went straight to the back of the line, and missed their flight.

I transferred through CGN this past Friday. From what I could tell security looked very bad indeed.
15 bags offloaded from my flight due to passengers not making it from bag drop to flight.

CGN was already a mess in normal times (always try to avoid it), can imagine it's even worse now. Beside the bad organization it's mostly used by holiday-travelers (aka "Flugamateure"). Sometimes unbelievable. "Must I really put everything out of my pockets?" "But how shall I cut my apple in the plane without my knife?" and so on.....

To answer my own question: fast track is open, although at 6.30am the normal line would have been quicker.
It took me 15min from taxi to lounge. Nice to see the have the new scanners so you can leave everything in your bag.
