Just got back from a week in Berlin/Munich. Every restaurant checked to see that we had a certificate but, as noted above, they just looked at it. There wasn't any scanning.
It was incredibly easy to get the CDC card converted. I walked to the pharmacy nearest and they converted it with no problem. My fiancee didn't come with me and when we returned the next day, a different clerk refused (only offered for German citizens because of taxes, blah blah blah). We walked around the block to the next nearest pharmacy and they converted hers without issue. The woman there was actually really excited because my fiancee is in healthcare and got her vaccine in 2020, which she thought was really neat. |

Do you have a link -- I'm not seeing it on my US Pixel 5. The only RKI app I see is "STIKO" -- which seems to be for doctors...
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...hl=en_US&gl=US I read elsewhere a couple of days ago that it had been released, but I couldn’t see it in the Play Store. When I saw your post, I just googled it on my iPad and found it. And it actually now shows up in my phone’s Play store as well. As far as I know, Google staggers the rollout of new versions, which might explain why it took a few days to become available to me. |

Just transfered mine at the Apotheke across from the U2 Senefelderplatz station in Berlin. Took 5 minutes, and only took that long because she reversed the day/month of birth and had to redo it.

Trying to follow this thread but hopefully someone can help me quickly. I'm arriving in Germany next week for business and will be in a small town. Landing in FRA.
Will I have any issues getting into restaurants, etc. in Germany with my passport and US CDC paper vaccination card? Or must I get a QR code from a pharmacy and then upload it to one of the apps? I don't have a Germany-based mobile phone for my trip. Thanks in advance, -RM |
Showing your cdc card will suffice, no need for getting the code for your app/phone.

Thanks in advance, -RM Other restaurants have you fill out a paper form (this was back in July), but the last trip (September) I only visited places that used Luca or similar apps. |

Just an update since I got back from Germany and spent 4-5 days there last week. My paper CDC vaccine card was accepted everywhere that even bothered to check. Not one restaurant asked me for an app or required me to use one. A few of them did ask me to write down my name and contact info, which I did. They didn't seem interested in actually looking at it, comparing it to my ID, etc. I had the impression they simply threw it out when they cleaned the table but I cannot confirm that. I haven't received any calls yet at least saying I was nearby someone who tested positive :)

Getting a little paranoid over ever changing rules in Holland, Austria and perhaps even Germany! Will be landing in the EU at MUC and wonder if here is any easy way to convert my CDC vaccination certificate to a EU or German one with QR code. Thanks for any useful Hinweis!

You're not staying airside in MUC anyway, right? |
No, I will be staying in a hotel in Munich. Will take your advice and go visit an Apotheke. Thanks.

We had no problem with the Apotheke at the Düsseldorf Hbf -- they seemed primed and ready to handle foreign (at least US) vaccine records.
A couple people in our group didn't get in done in Düsseldorf and tried 2-3 places in Berlin and none would do it or even suggest were it might be done. Not data, just anecdotes. Another (Canadian) friend was able to get one in Bamberg after a couple of tries, but he was born there so that may not be representative. |

We got our certs at an apotheke no problem with our CDC cards, and then uploaded to the Covpass app. My father is traveling with us and just shows his CDC card at restaurants and has not had any issues.
