Question Christmas Markets?

Does anyone know whether the Christmas Markets in Germany extend past Christmas Day (in particular the one in Regensburg)?

Thank you in advance to anyone who can help.

No.

In my personal though not extensive experience, rarely do any run past Christmas...Or really, Dec 23 or 24.

Until the 23rd according to the tourism office website, as well as the city authorities' website.

Most markets close either before or straight after Christmas.

As this is specific to German Christmas markets, please continue to follow this topic in the Germany forum.

On the morning of the 24th, you can still, in most cases, shop at the local bakery, butcher or fishmonger etc. until noon.

Nice to have fresh ingredients for your Christmas dishes or even ready-made-meals if on travel without a cooking option.

After Christmas, Winter sales open on the 27th if not a Sunday.

The Christmas markets in Germany and elsewhere on the continent are traditionally strictly held before the festivities, according to the Church calendar.

There are some markets in Germany which continue after Christmas often only as part or under a new theme (like city market or New Year market). Not aware about one in Regensburg area.
