BRE to city centre

Hi FT,

I'm looking into the logistics of watching a Werder Bremen game some time after the winter break utilising the rather cheap Ryanair flights out of MAN. I'm trying to see whether the arrival time, which is 70 minutes before a 1530 kickoff, is cutting things too tight. I've worked out that I'd need to grab the tram from the airport and then change at Domshiede, which shouldn't take more than 30 minutes, but I don't know the airport and how quickly I can get landside (assuming an on-time landing, am a UK passport holder). Any thoughts as to whether this is too optimistic a timetable?

Thanks people

As the airport is rather small, you should be landside quickly.

You should be okay. Take the number 6 tram, it leaves about every 10 minutes from the airport at that time of the day and the journey is around 10 minutes into Domsheide (sic). Onward travel to the Weserstadion is ~ 10 minutes more.

And you can also always take a cab in case things go south. It's really not that far (maybe a 10-15 minute ride), so it won't be too expensive. The taxi should also be able to drop you off right at the Stadium, even though the street right in front of it (Osterdeich) will be closed for traffic before and after the game.

I've gone into BRE several times and you can literally be to the tram station 10 minutes after the door to your plane opens (albeit on a domestic German flight).

I've used Ryanair several times flying into Bremen and the Ryanair building there is incredibly small (they converted an old hangar into their own terminal) and it never took me more than 10 minutes to get outside. With trams departing every 10 mins just outside the door you should be fine, so probably no need to take a taxi.
