8 hrs In Frankfort

I was rerouted and I'm not going to be in Frankfurt for eight hours tomorrow. What is there to do in the city? which is tge best lounge? How early do I have to get back to the airport because I know it is a huge airport?

I would take the S-Bahn train over to Mainz instead of going into Frankfurt. It's about 5-10 minutes more by train from the airport than Frankfurt. Ticket costs the same (3,70 euros IIRC). Mainz has more character. And it is pretty much walkable on foot. The only upside to Frankfurt would be if you want to do a lot of shopping. If that is the case, then take the S-Bahn train into the city and get off at the Konstablerwache station.

Search is your friend "Frankfurt layover" produces multiple threads, including this one http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/germa...t-airport.html
As to check-in and lounges, it would be helpful if you shared what airline you are flying.

There are also Smartphone/tablet apps for both the Frankfurt Airport (search FRAPORT) and the DB train system.
