It is always amusing to watch British TV shows with American characters. They have to be played by British actors and their efforts to sound American give a slight indication of what an American accent sounds like to British listeners.
OTOH, when I speak English in Europe, I am sometimes taken for a Czech.

I guess I need to get my American accent back! I've been asked more than once if I'm from Stuttgart, but when I tell them New Jersey I just get a look of
