Late dinner in Cologne

I am looking for some help in finding somewhere to eat tomorrow night in Cologne please.

I'll be leaving the opera at about 22.40. Does anyone know of anywhere close by, or between the opera house and the InterContinental Cologne where I can eat late on, say, around 23.00?

I would prefer somewhere where I can sample traditional food from the region....and somewhere where I will be safe as a foreigner (though, both my wife and I are fluent in German, so language is not an issue for us).

It has been about 10 years since I last visited the city, so, I could really do with some pointers please.

My GF told me there is a restaurant "Die Karawanne" pretty close to the "4711 House" which everybody will know. Apparently they are open late.

You are safe everywhere as a foreigner in Cologne, especially if you obey common rules.
