Borgata tips for getting Black card this weekend?
Just signed up for a Red card and want to get Black playing Saturday night. What is the fastest way to get there in Borgata's eyes? Still any kind of promotions going on?

You will need 1000 comp dollars. Are you a "top" level player (Diamond card in Harrahs total rewards system, ie)? If you are they will comp you Black Card.

No, I don't have any other casino cards. What's the quickest way to earn comp dollars? My friends are going to play a bit of poker, but I'm assuming that is a really slow way. Is video poker really the way to go? What kind of rate/hr can you reliably get?

I only play "regular" slots, not vp. But in most casinos, you earn points half as fast playing vp. What you want is possible if you play $5 slots at full coin--a 20 line game at 5 "coins" per line = $500 per spin. Is there a reason why you need Black Card "immediately"? The immediate perks are (1) access to the Amphora lounge (at $10/visit payable with comp$ or cash), (2) special line at the buffet and at check-in (which at times is longer than the regular line.)

Slots are the fastest way to earn comps and status. Of course, slots also have the highest vig, so you're basically paying for it.
I also wonder, as nrr mentions, what's the need for the Black Card?
The additional benefits [of a Black Card] are rather limited, as your "real" benefits like comp rooms/suites, meals, spa etc. etc. will be based on your THEO (or gaming theoretical lose) --- not on the color of your card (well, except for the "specific" card benefits as mentioned).
With regard to "live poker" no [or very very limited] benefits for that play, only slots/video poker and regular casino-banked table games (baccarat, dice, blackjack, roulette, pai gow etc. etc. etc.) earn you status and comps.
