Always keep forgetting to reply to this...

I really enjoy their podcasts. Definitely one of the few I consistently listen to. This one was right up my alley. I used to be somewhat religious with my casino time. Fewer short trips, not being willy nilly with my cards and protecting my ADT. No, it's not playing for comps, but why use my card on a night out where I'm not really playing anywhere near my normal level? I got away from that this year, and am already course correcting. I plan on going more during reward/comp dollar multiplier days and such and overall maximizing my return. Hey, if you're gonna spend/lose, why not?

Another very good episode. As a side note to the Borgata comp discussion, what I find interesting is that although my SO and I earn about the same amount of comp dollars, she gets less comps as a slot player than I do at tables. The good thing is that I do know what I need to reach to get me rooms, buffets, and shows, and what will take them away (they are quick with doing that). Still working on what triggers the matchplay/freeplay. I was looking at $50 matchplay every few days, then for the winter I got switched to $10 slotplay. Weird.

As with many properties, Borgata tries to determine if you are a "slot" or a "table" player. They then give SlotPlay or MatchPlays based on that determination. So, if you usually play tables (or a mix) and you have a big "trip" that has a lot more slots... you might start getting SlotPlay instead of MatchPlays.

My personal opinion, I would do slots on your SO's card and all table (which is you) on your card. Just get a 2nd (3rd) card, and when you go to play slots use the SO's card.

In my limited experience, I also find that Borgata is very "slick." They really have decent IT and don't over-comp. They are also careful with room offers, and will take them away (right away) if your play does not stay at a same or similar level. This all makes sense, since Borgata is the most in demand property in Atlantic City.

Another good resource, in addition to the Due For A Win podcast is the FaceBook group. Lots of good information there.

I almost never play slots there. Only time I ever put more than ten or twently in was two weeks ago on my last trip, and that was mainly because I was playing VP, too. They moved me to that slot play months ago. Gotta say, though, that they treat me better than anyone else as a table player. Even better than little Valley Forge.

I almost never actually go on FB anymore, but I hear they have a good group. I follow them on Twitter and usually engage in convo there.

Borgata has historically treated table players decently. In addition, Mohegan Sun (CT) also does. I don't have a lot of data-points on Pennsylvania, even though it's the second largest gaming jurisdiction in the USA.

I frequently see CET casinos doing Reward Credit multiplier days.

Is it safe to assume that RCs earned on video poker machines are not multiplied on these promotional RC multiplier days?

Multiplier days are for slots only?

Includes any play earned that day, slots, VP, or tables.

It depends on the property and the promotion. I've often seen VP to be excluded, but sometimes it is not. Sometimes VP has a different multiplier. It's a bit hazy in my memory, but a couple years ago I had one in Tahoe that I believe was like 5 x RC on slots and 2 x on VP or something like that. A 5X on VP could make even some of the crappiest pay tables have a positive expectation, and they're pretty good at avoiding that!

It's best just to check the T&C of each promotion.

There used to be 7x on VP in Reno/Tahoe as recently as a few years ago, but these days it's capped

When MLIFE fully kicks in, will some (or any) of Borgata's gaming model remain?

Not quite.

With Total Rewards you earn 1 Reward Credit ( = 1c in comps) for every $10 bet at video poker. So a 5x multiplier increases your return to 5c per $10 wagered or 0.5%. Given the crappiest payables easily have a return of less than 97% you'd need a 30x multiplier to approach a breakeven expectation..
I would venture to say that there are very few machines in Caesars properties where a 5x multiplier would result in a positive expectation.

Harrah's New Orleans often has multiplier days where you swipe your card for a mystery multiplier of up to 100x but I have yet to get a multiplier higher than 9x (which is actually the minimum awarded for 7Stars cardholders). Even then the higher multiplier applies only to slots and video poker is limited to 3x regardless of the level of slots multiplier won
