Does anyone know if you have to actually stay at Cosmo or if it needs to be more than one night to get the $250 birthday comp? I was thinking about matching my status in order to take advantage of that offer.

So I have basic status at Harrah's but I get some decent room offers - free rooms mid-week at the lower end properties and nicely-discounted rooms otherwise. I get some decent deals with Pearl status at MGM. I was looking and I am 8000 points away from Gold at Cosmo, and I LOVE staying there, but the rooms are quite high when compared to the free or cheap rooms I can get elsewhere (although the rooms cannot compare to Cosmo rooms).
I think my points at Cosmo are going to start rolling off in Jan/Feb. I'm wondering if it's worth going back to Cosmo before Jan/Feb to try to get those points and make Gold in order to get discounted rooms for the rest of the year. My assumption is that if I accumulate 20k points before any points start rolling off I'll be granted Gold for a year. So my question is - does Cosmo offer any discounted rooms once you get to Gold? Or is it the case as I have seen mentioned here that you have to call a host and ask when you want a room, and that you'll be more likely to get one if you are Gold? And does anyone know if the Stay 8 nights get 1 free perk is still active? I think I might have just stayed my eighth night. Are they going to let me know or is this something I have to ask for also? Any answers are appreciated. |

Identity Points Through Marriott Transfer
I know that Identity points earned through food and dining spend are good towards earning status (Stirling/Gold/Plat).
Does anyone know if points earned through a transfer of Marriott points counts towards this? The transfer rates aren't that fantastic (5 Marriott points = 2 Identity points), but it may be worthwhile if I'm close to dropping down a level and want to reach the next threshold. |
Any chance you know what kind of play you need to get a host at cosmo?

I do not consider $7500 coin-in over two days that high (YMMV of course), so I suspect that Cosmo is trying hard to get the "medium rollers" like myself to play there more by assigning them hosts. (And it's certainly working -- I'm booked to go back in August!) |

I went from 0 to Sterling in a couple of days (which is about $7500 coin-in on slots). I went to ask a question in the high-limit room (I wasn't playing there) and the host on duty asked if I had a host. I said no, and he "took me on". He then told me to text him as I was checking out -- when I did he then comped some additional items off my bill.

While those indeed are minimum benefits you get for Sterling (admittedly not much), I suspect the host cares more about your average play per day, and not the level of points you collect over the year (which includes hotel and food spend). So they can certainly comp you above and beyond that, especially with regards to the comped rooms.
Of course, "reel slot players" are most coveted. And, their play, provides the highest THEO. This is why a lower status person (who visits less often), might get better ("one-off") comps/perks than a regular with higher status (who visits much more frequently). |

Slot Multipliers?
This page: http://www.cosmopolitanlasvegas.com/...tidentity.aspx
mentions "2x slot multipliers all day, every day." as a sterling benefit and "3x slot multipliers all day, every day." as a benefit for gold and platinum. I've never played at Cosmo before -- I'm curious, what are these mutlipliers? I assume that they are point multipliers -- are they on all machines, or only on select machines? |

They are comp point multipliers. They aren't multipliers towards points needed to reach the next status level.

I understand that, but are they only on select machines? Or on all machines? Do you also get the point multipliers while playing good VP machines? Or, reel slots only?
