They matched my Ceasars Diamond Status...
Cosmo matched my Diamond level to whatever their equivalent is (I think platinum), and it's even less valuable than a gold card, because when you scratch the ice off the windshield you can't see how much has accumulated due to the silver color.
Sufficed to say, nothing came of it, no offers, in fact the Cosmo online identity comps system has shown they are still "work in progress" for the last year now. So as far as I am concerned, go to the Ceasars route. |

How many times have you played/stayed there? Have you met a host yet? If you don't have one assigned to you, give them a call and they'll assign you one. Make sure they have your email address, and you should see offers. After I finally got a host, I started seeing both snail mail offers and email announcements of upcoming contests/events. I'm not a big money player, but I think the offers I've gotten have been excellent. |
I have been very pleased with the offers that Cosmo has sent my way, especially since I do not gamble very much or very long their when I am in town. Now MGM is a different story and I am very disappointed with them.

Can you tell us how much you gamble and what kind of rates you got? Thanks! |
I did the status match at Cosmo last year (got a Platinum card out of it).
Host was assigned, and free night offers did arrive in the mail. FWIW, the Platinum card is meaningless now. Cosmo has taken away nearly all of the benefits associated with the Gold and Platinum Identity cards. You will NOT get any of the original benefits assigned to the premium levels, effective immediately. |

Yea I don't get it. Cosmo Perks looked promising, but they took so much away. How are they suppose to generate gambling revenue if they don't attract high rollers? lol

[QUOTE=gengar;18238199]What perks have been eliminated? The only ones I regularly use are free wifi and gym access,
The one we miss is the free roundtrip limo service to/from McCarran. Saves a lot on taxi fare. RE: free wifi and gym access, that is Marriott perks for Plat member. As a Marriott Plat, didn't even know that was an Identity perk. Same goes for walking in to the Wicked Spoon: it's a Marriott benefit. |
There is also a few hundred dollars worth of spa credit, and line pass to the Marquee club, which is a huge benefit for me.

Didn't know they got rid of the transportation as I never used it. I still think it's quite some hyperbole to say that we won't get "any" of the benefits originally in the program.

The Marquee benefit was never really recognized even at opening, but that's pretty much the case with nightclubs in all the gaming loyalty programs at other casinos as well.

So can I assume that you tried using it before? (And if yes, where? haha)
The funniest thing about the whole experience was that I actually do know a lot of the hosts at these clubs, so I sometimes had to avoid the hosts I did know or walk away and come back later so that I would get an accurate response representative of the typical Platinum member. :p |

I knew the moment mlife put it on as a perk that they were full of it so it really just started as a joke - I happened to be walking by Bank at Bellagio with a couple friends shortly after the mlife rollout and we were joking around about it, so I flagged down a random host and asked him what Platinum would do for me and he basically said the most would be acting as if the member was on the basic "VIP" list (i.e., the one anyone can get on anyway and time limits / ratios still apply). Since then, if I found myself at other MGM properties, I would randomly swing by the club with no intention of actually going in. I was similarly rebuffed at Jet (pre-1OAK), LAX, and Haze, with the latter two outright saying Platinum would do nothing at all. I think I posted about a few of these experiences previously on past threads on this and the LV forum.

The Gold card has worked for me for a couple of years at Wet Republic for cutting the outside line (i.e. using vip line) for anyone in my group and free entry for 2 people (and their cover is $50). I had an argument at the pool at Aria and they finally let me in there for free as well. Haven't tried it at any clubs other than Haze after I had already waited in line (I was waiting for friends anyway) and they had me charge it to the room and said it would get comped off - I didn't check or have to have the argument about it because I hadn't charged that much to the room so my bill was covered anyhow. I have yet to try it elsewhere.
Does anyone know if you have to actually stay at Cosmo or if it needs to be more than one night to get the $250 birthday comp? I was thinking about matching my status in order to take advantage of that offer. |
I have stayed at cosmo 5 times since they opened. I was assigned a host on my third trip and only made platinum status as of my last trip. This was earned in the casino as I have been comped rooms on each stay with the exception of my first. I was there in June and am going back next week. I was given a limousine at anytime by calling VIP services and have never paid for any food or beverage. However, earned casino dollars do expire every 12 months. I have about 600 bucks in spending money in my identity account and was pretty much told use i or lose it. I wouldn't pay much attention to the perk list for each tier. They seem to give you whatever you want just by asking. ask and you shall receive. Btw, I have zero Marriott status.
