Upgrading for broke people

I am a TR and MLife member and I stay at the hotels and try to get the points put on my card. I'm also a $5 table craps player and will usually drop around $200 each trip to Vegas (I don't win)

I'm going to Vegas in two weeks. I was thinking of changing $2k at a craps table, but really only gambling with $150 of it for as long as I can last. Is there any sense in doing this?

When/Where are the best place to do this?

Hi Dave, welcome to FT!

Unfortunately, that's not going to get you anything. They will definitely notice that you're only playing $150.

Agreed. Buying in for $2k might get you some points, but just holding onto it won't get you very far, unfortunately. Comps and points are, from what I understand, mostly calculated via a player's action.

Honestly, don't play for points. Think of points as a way to compensate the huge amount of losses you could take. If you loose $500 to get comped at the buffet, why not just go to the buffet instead?

You won't get points for the amount you buy-in for. It is all about the amount you gamble per hand and for how long you play.

Agreed-I played 3 card poker for 18 hours straight (minus potty breaks and a few moments to run up to the room to change my shirt) and it was quite lucrative
