AFAIK, Mlife Tier Points are not redeemable points, and expire on 10/1 every year regardless of how much you stay/play. Thus, very little use if you have your Mlife status via Hyatt match and expect to keep it that way.

Agree. They aren't useful for anything except tracking how close you are to the next status level. Since you're nowhere near the next level because you already have platinum, they're of no use to you.

Gold Gift
I received gold status for my hyatt match. I got an email saying come pick up my graduation gift.
I was wondering if I still would get this since my graduation is from Hyatt match and not from play. And I was wondering what the gift usually is (is it worth driving to the casino for). I do most of my play at CET and am a diamond there so I do not know a ton about the MLife program...any help would be great...thanks. |
We will have two of kids (10 and 16) with us for a stay in July. Probably Vdara. I'm Mlife Gold but don't think this gets me into the club lounge. Does anyone know if the $50/day charge for 2 guests would include my two kids <18? Right now the only club room is the corner suite or studio and I'd like one of the suites with two toilets.

Benefits on third-party bookings
I managed to snag one of those Expedia coupons today. Should I expect the Mlife benefits on third-party bookings?

The additional fee is stated as $50/guest, but I'd have to imagine that is $50/guest/night. If that's the case, then one question is whether registering 3 or 4 guests to a club-eligible room allows all guests to access the club lounge. The additional room rate per night, per officially registered guest may be less than the $50 fee, especially with the mLife discount. You could consider e-mailing Vdara front desk to inquire. |

No one actually knows how this is going to work yet because the Vdara Club Lounge doesn't open until 11 Jan. That said, all rooms designated as "Luxury Suites" will have access to the Club Lounge and mLife Gold certainly won't gain access.

Thank you. I presumed a club room would grant all guests access but that was, well, presumptuous. I do think it’s $50/night/guest otherwise. I’ll call and ask about the kids. I’d sacrifice the toilet if necessary bc we get great use out of the club lounges. |

I do think a club room should grant all registered guests access and would be surprised by any policy otherwise. My assumption is that the $50/guest(/night?) fee is there for the specific purpose of charging guests who deliberately under-registered.

Tier Discount
I am new to the MLife program, apologies if my question has been answered before. I couldn't find it. Currently I am seeing a 20% MLife Pearl discount for Las Vegas hotel bookings. In a couple of weeks I hope to match Hyatt Explorist to MLife Gold. I am trying to decide whether I should book now or wait. Any experience whether I can expect a significantly higher discount for MLife Gold?

I'm not sure how much difference gold will make in tier discounts but Vegas hotel rates are very fluid. If you wait, you may get a better deal or the rates may jump significantly. If you're happy with the rate you see now, I'd suggest booking it. Then, if a better rate comes along later, book it and cancel the original. Just check the booking terms to make sure this is possible, but generally MGM hotel booking are fully refundable until about 72 hours before arrival. They do charge a one night deposit when you book but will refund this promptly when you cancel.

In any case, Low Roller's advice is good, as given the standard 72hr cancellation applies, you can just rebook later if the price drops. |

20% is a pretty standard discount even for Plats (it's usually in the 20-25% range). Be aware that the discount can fluctuate; IIRC on some high-demand weekends, I saw even just ~10% off some suites as Plat, whereas during slow periods, I could see 50%+ off base rooms.

Thank you all for the advice. I have booked now. It will be interesting to see, whether there will be any rate change, when I make the next tier.
