Booking for others due to status

I recently received platinum elite status. I want to book a flight for my parents, but I will not be on the flight. I thought about booking me on the flight just to receive the platinum benefits. I would check all of us in but no-show myself for the flight. Its cheaper than booking them with all the fees.
Do we see any problems with this?

just cancellation of your status and loss of your miles

in past situations checkin agents can remove all the extras from passengers if the elite is not present

also the issue of return flight segment being cancelled if you no show the outbound

ar least frontier made it easier this year to partially 'share' status benefits. platinum/diamond tier leves can gift gold/silver status so that they can use some of the perks when flying on their own.

Did you ever try this? I was considering, but didn't want to jeopardize my status!

I've missed flights before and the companions still had the benefits. I've done it 3 times out of 150+ flights. I wouldn't do it regularly but they understand that sometimes people miss flights.
