Ability to select seat preference gone?
Hi all,
I seem to recall the ability to choose seat preference somewhere in the Frontier settings: As in, choose window or aisle, and when Frontier went to assign seats, it would try to assign what you selected. I can't seem to find that preference anymore -- has it been removed? Am I thinking of a different airline?
Thanks!

That ability was definitely there in previous versions of the user profile. Someone else asked about it recently and I looked to see if I could find it, but I couldn't. Maybe I missed it.
I wonder if the old preferences are still being honored?

When Frontier changed the look of the profile page, the ability to select a seat preference was removed. I can say that my preference in my "old" profile page was for an aisle seat; I did not specify front, middle, or back of the airplane, as the only thing I cared about was the aisle seat. Since the new profile page debuted, the few flights I have taken have all given me window seats, save for one flight which DID give me an aisle.
So in other words, it appears that the old preferences are not being recognized or "remembered".

Frontier has reinstated the ability to store seat preferences. On the profile page, under Travel Preferences, the first "sublisting" link, I guess you'd call it, is Seat Preferences. When I clicked this, my previous choice of aisle seat was not checked. So it was not "remembered" from the previous profile page preferences.
I have no data points on if this still works, as my next flight with them is not until near Christmas.

I checked in right at 24 hours before the flight. I was given a window seat in the very back of the plane, not my preferred aisle seat. I wasn't overjoyed, but as long as I didn't get a middle, I could handle it. The plane was sold out, but checking in as early as possible shoul have made it possible to get my preference. I am not sure what to make of this; why have a seat preference option on the My Profile page if it's not going to be honored?
I am happy that being Elite will alleviate this situation for 2019, but for all of the non-Elites who have checked off a seat preference, this is unfortunate. I hope this was just a hiccup, and that seat preferences will be honored going forward for everyone who has bothered to list one.
