So this interview is going to be in Friday's paper or what? He's not making it any easier on himself by saying that MKE will keep the seven flights it has now, especially since we know RHI is going to end and there's been talk of moving the DCA flight to OMA.

RJET pilots are vocal in their opinions of Bedford.

WTMJ Radio is promoting hearing from BB this afternoon, including his thoughts on MKE. I'm not quite sure what that means, but, to listen:

http://www.620wtmj.com/shows/listen

It's a conversation with the Business Journal's editor, Mark Kass, regarding their interview with Bedford.

Bedford said that RJET's projections were off, as far as MKE routes; loser routes were discontinued. All current MKE routes, though, are profitable and will remain. Bedford also indicated that some marginal MKE routes, which were discontinued, may return in a better economy.

Where exactly do they sell the pritned issues of the Milwaukee Business Journal? I'd really like to read this interview but I went to two different gas stations today and neither of them had the newspaper. I don't feel like purchasing the online subscription just for one article.

You can purchase it at any Milwaukee area bookstore. I believe that Walgreens stores also sell it.

“He literally trashed the brand,” said Carl Schwerman, first officer of the local 357, and Republican Airlines executive board trustee. “Bedford took the most senior, highest-paid pilots in the Milwaukee pilot group, threw us out on the street, returned the airlines to Boeing, and had to pay a penalty for getting out of the leases early.”

"Republican Airlines" -- Priceless!!

Assuming "returned the airlines to Boeing" means "returned the airplanes to Boeing" I wonder why people resort to dishonesty to make their case. Boeing was arranging for the exit of the 717's months before Republic bought Midwest

He was there - does he not remember well?

Just to clarify, the "Republican Airlines" name glitch came from Michael del Castillo, who wrote the article, not from anyone interviewed for the story.

I thought they may have been referring to Tommy Thompson's latest attempt at humor.

MKE-DCA appears to end on October 27th.

MKE-DEN is also being reduced from 4x daily to 3x daily. This could be a simple seasonal reduction. However, Frontier has been thinning out frequency on other DEN routes to make room for some of the MCO expansion so perhaps it will remain 3x daily going forward.

No word on the fate of RHI, but I'm guessing Republic can't wait to dump the route.

So, MKE's winter schedule on F9 will only consist of DEN with multiple daily departures and MCO 3x per week. It looks like MSN-DCA is retained with 1x daily N/S into March.

Flew MKE-DCA today. MKE Check-in desk confirms it ends 10/28.
