Official Rewards Redemption Notice
When are the very misleading notices that are mailed by MagsforMiles to ER members going to stop?
I was shown an "Official Wisconsin Resident Rewards Redemption Notice" received by an ER member, who has an active account, and whose miles are not close to expiring. Above the recipient's name, in bold print, appears "NOTICE TO WISCONSIN RESIDENTS."
The somewhat official-looking notice addresses the member by name and has both the ER account number and current balance noted. The EarlyReturns logo and name are prominently displayed in several locations in the letter and other enclosed materials, which might lead one to believe the letter is from Frontier.
Below the letter is a detachable form, with member's name, address, ER number and account balance. The EarlyReturns name and logo appear alongside the MagsforMiles name; as an aside, the EarlyReturns name appears six times on the face of this letter, while MagsforMiles' name appears twice (once in their email address).
This letter is so misleading. A few years ago, an elderly couple with valid MidwestMiles accounts told me about how they had to cash in their miles and order magazines, as they were notified that they would just lose their miles, if not immediately cashed in. So, they cashed in almost their entire balances to order magazines for themselves and their son. They had been saving and trying to build their miles, so they would have enough for award tickets to visit their son and his family, out of state, and were more than half way to their target, when they got duped by the magazine scheme.
I realize that FF partners contact program members for promos on credit card enrollment, car rentals, etc., but this is just not the same.
Please, why can't Frontier (Jim Reichart?) have some control over their partner, who is taking advantage of naive and unknowing customers? It is disturbing that a company like this has the names, account numbers and balances of ER members and is allowed to send out this very misleading correspondence, using Frontier's name.

Dear XXX XXXXXXXX
A record review of your EarlyReturns miles balance indicates that you currently have miles that have not been redeemed for rewards. Redeem your Frontier EarlyReturns miles for your choice of rewards for absolutely NO CASH COST.
As a Wisconsin resident, you can claim these rewards with your Frontier EarlyReturns miles anytime before midnight on August 12, 2011. We encourage all Wisconsin Frontier EarlyReturns members to use their miles for their favorite reward by that date.
Be sure to choose your rewards by recording your selections on the back of the claim certificate. Then return in the envelope provided, but send NO cash, NO check, and NO credit card information. There is no cash cost. But you must reply before August 12, 2011. Please reply promptly.
Sincerely,
Virginia Wilson
Program Director

It's called marketing and we opt-in to receive solicitations via airline partners with the privilege of being an airline frequent flier member. I have received several over the years from United and US Airways.
