Rest of the E70s to be gone by October 1

Delta will be taking the remaining 6 E70s by start of October.

Also, the 6 E90s that were due to come online by the end of the year will be delayed 2 months each due to parts delays due to the Japan Tsunami. Finally, 3 E35s will leave the fleet in September because their leases are up.

Good news for RJET to get those planes into the profit zone. I wonder what adjustments we will see with the rest of these planes leaving the fleet.

If the price of oil continues to rise, I suspect that we will see some significant capacity adjustments come fall. Given that the MKE hub is so heavily reliant on regional jets and E170s, cutbacks are likely to be more noticeable there. Until MKE can start generating some profits for Republic there is no need to commit additional resources unless Southwest/AirTran contine to scale back operations.

Frankly, I'm surprised we haven't seen more cutbacks from other airlines yet. We're quickly reaching the point where high oil prices will once again create a crisis for the airline industry.

We have already reached the point where it is creating a crisis for me. Airfares are double from 6-8 months ago and I am flying much less because of that.

I am certainly not alone, and I suspect we will see loads diminishing.

So three E135s and all 14 of the E170s that have been flying for F9 will be out of of the fleet by October? You also mention that six of the E190s will be delayed, so how are they going to replace all this flying? Do they have enough aircraft to fill this gap?

F9 has obtained three ex-mexicana A319s, and continues to get new A320s..there are ten in the fleet now with four more on order. If needed, they will postpone retirement of the four A318s left, and the three Q400s could stick around longer.

And, RJs are a dime a dozen now, if they needed a few smaller Embraers.

But, several have commented, there might be significant pulldowns this fall if fuel stays high, and they won't need any more airplanes. Daze

We will lose 10 lines of flying for the fall until the new airplanes are delivered. The schedule should be updated in the coming days if not already.
