Question award question

Any ideas why I can't book the following one-way at 12,500 miles?

PDX-DEN-TPA - no award availability

PDX-DEN available for 12,500; both AM departures are available
DEN-TPA available for 12,500; 440pm departure is available

Can do the return just fine. Have not seen this problem before, so hoping it's just a glitch.

Thank you.

I checked 12,500 mi award for your routing, three months from now, and came up with daily availability. If you try again, without any success, it probably deserves a call to ER.

Good luck with your booking.

Thanks for checking it out.
I too tried several other dates and similar routings with no troubles. I'll call ER in the morning.

ER has all the answers. If the connection exceeds 4 hrs, the system treats it as 2 oneways. Everything over 4 hours is considered a stopover, thus the reason it cannot be booked. Hey Frontier, please move the DEN-TPA flight 30 min earlier.

Glad to hear a knowledgable ER agent could connect the segments and find you something to do during your layover in DEN (reclaim and check your bags per FAA regulations). Enjoy your flights!

Some highlights, knowledge, and thoughts from my booking experience:

*On April 2, there are no "legal" connections to TPA from SEA, PDX, GEG, SMF, SFO, to name a few. Weird.
*Three days after booking the awards and the accompanying revenue ticket, the fare dropped about $100 with the Presidents Day Sale. I was less than pleased, though I understand this gamble.
*Can only book 'economy' class tickets with the multi-city option. Wanted 'classic'.
*Any wagers the DEN agent will attempt to collect a baggage fee during my stopover?
