Jamaica?

On a flight from Nashville to Denver yesterday, the FA mentioned off-hand that she heard Frontier may announce soon it fly to Jamaica from St. Louis this winter. Our hope was DEN to Grand Cayman.

Hadn't heard that from any other source.

I hadn't heard that one either. Like you, I was hoping for a DEN - GCM.

Doesn't it seem more likely from DEN or MKE than STL ?

I would suspect it would be charter flights for Apple Vacations or Fun Jet.

This would be a curious route addition from STL but STL does have already have some Mexico service from F9 that probably relies on mostly O/D. I think F9 is willing to try any route they could make a profit on, especially uncontested P2P routes.

I wouldn't be surprised to see F9 make an entrance into some Caribbean markets but it is probably more likely for next year when more frames come online. I'm sure they have their hands full right now with the existing additions and with the integration.

Is that Saturday only service STL-MBJ or KIN? I wasn't aware of F9 is considering service for DEN-Caribbeans routes. It going to have more tougher competitions against another carriers. I knows F9 had no direct-service from DEN, MKE or STL.

It is not scheduled service that people can book on Frontier's website if I am correct in assuming this is charter service to Jamaica. This might be 2 or 3 round trips from STL to Jamaica during the winter vacation period and then it is done.

I think it would be wise for Frontier to start DEN-Caribbeans routes because once the AirTran deal completes I am sure DEN will be beefed up with international routes.

I agree. Lets hope so for his sake. I can't wait to hear it. It will have more tougher competitions against another carriers. I wasn't sure about F9 is looking for. Maybe F9 will decide to choosing for which the specific routes will be announced.
