Priority Luggage for Frontier Elites?
I am Summit on F9 and can count the number of times I check luggage each year on one hand, but a couple minutes ago I was pulling off a month-old tag from one of those few times, and noticed that it has "PRIORITY" printed on it. This was for a single leg DEN->LGA. I don't recall my bag coming out first or anywhere near - not that LGA has long wait times anyway - but is this an "unpublished" perk for elites? If so, is there any chance it works? Without an orange tag or other more noticible sign, I don't know how it would...

It is something they do for Summit members. I recall they use to have a tag back when I was Summit in '03 and '04 but don't know how it is done now.
The other large airline in Denver also prints Priority for their Premier Exec, 1k, and Global Services members and this helps once in a blue moon.
I would say this is more a perk which seems good, but is quite difficult to control behind the scenes for any airline.

no... It is not a perk
Actually, this has nothing to do with your elite status. Frontier's pink priority tags are for those customers who check luggage in a short time period relative to the time of their flight. This ensures that both you and your luggage make it on the flight. It is not like Continental's priority tags that ensures your luggage comes out first. Ask an agent next time you check in - they will confirm.

I have had no luck with my luggage with the "priority" tag that frontier puts on. The tags they have beeen putting on my bags are purple and say priority. I am Ascent. I am also Premier Exec. and when United puts on the orange priority tag I would say about 8 ot of 10 flights my bag is one of the first to come out.

Jacks - I know what the pink tags are for, but what I mentioned above was not that - this was just the words "PRIORITY" printed on the normal bag tag. I didn't think that it would have any noticeable effect on bag delivery time, considering that I didn't even notice it until a month later, but I just wanted to know if this is something that Frontier does for its elites as a "feel-good" sort of thing (they don't mention it anywhere on their website).

There are several comments that are printed in a black bar on the actual bag tags. Off the top of my head that I have seen are PRIORITY, NON-REV, LATE, HEAVY, and DAMAGED. It is not very noticeable (it is only on one side) and other than putting a matching code on your claim reciept, doesn't do too much as far as I can tell.
The theory behind the purple band that says PRIORITY is that these bags will be loaded last, offloaded first and down to claim towards the begining, although, even on a flight with 40+ Assent/Summit members I can't remember that happening.
