How long does the Horizon contract last?
Hi,
I'll be travelling in a week or so on business on F9 PHX->DEN->DAY (and back a few days later), using the Horizon codeshare.
I've flown it before, on that same route, in part becuase of Frontier's and Horizon's good service as well as because of the really great flight times (no rushhour in PHX with an 11AM departure, no rushhour traffic at a reasonable 730P when you arrive, a full workday with time for dinner and then an 8PM departure back to DEN, with an arrival in Phoenix that same day around 1130PM.
Question: does anyone know when the Horizon partnership ends? An RJ is fine, but I don't think I'd book PHX<->DAY if/once the long leg turns into a prop...

Horizon will start removing aircraft in Jan.
However Frontier is working to get a new RJ provider with up to 20 aircraft, which is in addition to the Q400's. The Q400's will be used on routes up to 750 miles, and so far it has been stated they will be used in the Rocky Mountain region. The service to Dayton will either go to the new RJ partner, or mainline.

You may want to check the schedules. There's a change effective Saturday, 12/9 that repositions several a/c. I don't know if your flt schedule is affected.

In the summertime I'll usually consider flying into CMH and doing the 90 minute drive (since it is cheaper, especially if/when you have to change your plans); but I won't do that in the wintertime. I'm from the desert in Arizona: the closest we get to snow is watching others futilly attempt to drive in it on the teevee...
