Aircraft Deployed on SFO-LAX-SFO?

HI F9 supporters,

I have just booked a one-way ticket between SFO and LAX for August 26, 10:40am. Any idea which 2 aircraft within the fleet are deployed on the SFO-LAX-SFO run? I'm curious as to which animal will be greeting me that day!

From my understanding the aircraft are rotated onto this route using the flights to LAX and SFO. As this is six weeks out it is unknown, additionally there is another aircraft delivery due this week.

Thanks ncorman! I like the thrill of anticipation... It's like an unfolding mystery. I'm looking forward to my flight!

Greetings!

The LAX-SFO shuttle is scheduled with the A319, although A318's could be subbed if needed. By the end of August, Frontier will operate 47 A319's and 7 A318's (as well as 10 CRJ-700 aircraft through a partnership with Horizon Air to operate Frontier's JetExpress operations). As each aircraft has its own individual animal on the tail and winglets, you can probably guess that it's difficult to predict who will be 'escorting' you down to L.A. Thank you for flying with Frontier- the employees here sincerely appreciate your business. I occasionally work the LAX-SFO shuttle and think the route has become a success - I'm glad to see that some of our readers in this forum have taken to our new service. ^

Cheers!

Wow. Nice to see a post from a Frontier employee.

I will be spending two days in the Silicon Valley area prior to my flight, and I should have logically chosen to fly to LAX from SJC (the nearest airport). However, learning that Frontier does not do the SJC-LAX shuttle -- and having had bad experience on UA and AA -- I chose to make the long trip up to SFO just so that I could fly F9. I hope I won't be disappointed.

Hi Loony!

I think that you will find that we have genuine employees here at Frontier. Very professional, yet we're encouraged to let our individuality shine. You could almost say that many of our employees are just like a kind next door neighbor. As a flight attendant, you can imagine that I work with many different crews and more often than not, never see them again. But even upon my first meetings with every crew on every trip, I can tell you that we have no walls amongst ourselves, other than for respecting one another. Even though many of us don't know each other well (there's 5,000 of us F9'ers out there), we really are a tight knit group of employees - from the flight attendants, customer service agents, pilots, managers, reservation agents, caterers, ramp service agents, training department, payroll, etc. A strong company culture and great pride in our company and individual roles have created a great bond amongst everyone, as well as a really excellent work environment. I've been here for almost 2 1/2 years and I still feel like I started just yesterday. Everyday, every flight is so exciting.

You will definitely not be disappointed. Many of us take pride in our work and will not stop short of anything to make our customers happy. You are a guest, and we work hard to do our best! Please let us know how your journey is as well as how you found our service.

Safe travels,

FrontierFA

Thanks for that foxnine. I love those penguins!!! Incidentally, I saw that aircraft this morning at DEN. I'm again back in DEN after a series of afternoon meetings in Boulder. In fact, I'm sitting at Gate A25 now, awaiting my flight to San Jose (F9 165). It's still early and there's no aircraft in sight yet. Let's see which will be my lucky animal!

Just for the record, I got Grizwald the Celebrity Bear on F9 165 (DEN - SJC) on Wednesday evening, and Doc the Owl on F9 1926 (SFO - LAX) this morning.

There was this cute poster with the owl and captioned "Today you're flying with Doc" at the entrance of the aircraft. When i sought permission to take a picture of that, the FA politely said no. There went my picture, as well as many other pictures of the beautiful mountains during the 47-minute flight!
