Frontier Pilots Voting on Contract

Frontier Airlines pilots are voting on a new contract that would provide them with pay raises ranging from 15 percent to about 36 percent based on longevity.

The approximately 340 members of the Frontier Airline Pilots Association last year ratified a five-year contract with the Denver-based company that included salaries based on a review of pay for pilots in several other regional airlines.

In May, the company agreed to review pilots' pay based on a salaries for pilots of seven different airlines that would more accurately reflect Frontier's strong financial position, said pilots association president Ron Stock.

The carrier's net income doubled to $54.9 million, or $1.90 per share, for its fiscal year that ended March 31, from $27 million, or 95 cents per share, the previous year. Sales rose 43 percent to $473 million from $330 million.

Stock said voting by the union's approximately 270 eligible members was expected to be complete by June 21.
