Has anyone stayed here recently? How was it? Considering staying here instead of my normal place, and they have some good rates. The location is just about my ideal location. Would be staying in a room, not a suite.

Thanks!

I personally have not stayed there recently (although I wish), but have friends who have and adored it. It is a lovely hotel and a gorgeous building, quite famous. It also has a storied past: it was the headquarters for the Nazi counter-espionage division in occupied Paris. And after the war it housed returning prisoners of concentration camps. My own grandmother would go there to check lists of returned deportees to see if any of her family had returned from the camps.

Thanks! Any word on the quality of the rooms? I like that it's historical, but if the rooms are really in need of a renovation at this point, would be good to know.

Just looking on the French reviews on trip advisor lots of people say the rooms could use a renovation. I have found that that is true, unfortunately, of many of the non-chain hotels in Paris. However, I have no more info than that. Hopefully, someone else will?

Thanks. That's what I got from TA too. But as you say, that's true for a ton of independent Paris hotels.
