First time to Paris

I am flying for the first time to Paris. I arrive @ 5.15 PM at CDG and I have to board AF for Clermont on the next day 9.00 AM at ORLY. Can some body suggest the best course that I can take, so that my baggage and myself are comfortable

There really are lots of options in Paris, depending on your budget, tastes, etc. but what I would do is this:

From CDG I would take the Air France bus to the Montparnasse area and get a hotel around there.

Next morning, take the Air France bus from Montparnasse station to ORY.

Depending on the day of the week, you will hit some traffic coming or going into Paris. At least with the AF bus, you will get to see a bit more of Paris - since this is your 1st time. Also, the AF buses are very convenient. They pick you up right in front of the various terminals at CDG. And there's usually someone there to load your luggage for you. I've used them dozens of times in Paris - much prefer them to the train.

Here's the info on the various AF bus routes:

Welcome to flyertalk.
I don't want to be rude but there are tons of threads already about spending a day or a night in Paris. Anywhere from coming into the city to hotels around the airport. I would strongly suggest you do a search in the France forum. You can also look at the AirFrance forum. They have many threads about spending a night in or around the airport.
This is one of the most recent threads.

If you take the Air France bus option with a last stop at Montparnasse,
I would recommend the Concorde Montparnasse hotel, which is a recent and affordable business hotel.

I took the Air France bus recently (to the Arc de Triomphe from CDG) and it was very easy. Just make sure you have Euros to pay for it....you pay the driver.

You can also pay at the AF bus counter (until 10pm if I remember well)at "galerie" level (large corridor between terminal 2E and 2F), exit number 3, near the AF bus stop

Amex cards are welcome at the AF bus counter

Take the RER into central Paris; it's the easiest way to get there from the airport. You can also take the RER (different line) from central Paris to Orly the next day.

The RER is not the most comfortable way from CDG to Paris, especially for a first-time visitor carrying luggage at rush hour. Much better to take the Air France bus.

Gare de Lyon area might be more manageable than Gare Montparnasse, which is huge and sprawling. Probably bigger choice of hotels near Montparnasse, though.

Montparnasse would be more convenient with Air France buses running to and from both CDG and Orly. Definitely agree that the bus would be an easier and more comfortable option for a first-time visitor with luggage and not much more expensive than the RER.

AF "Les Cars" coach is also safer than RER 'B', especially night time. I like taking the RER but do take extra care between CDG and downtown.
