American Airlines Arrival Lounge & connections in CDG

I will be arriving at Terminal 2 and want to use the American Airlines
Arrival Lounge to take a shower by purchasing a day pass.
I have a four hour layover before departing to Malaysia at Terminal 1.

Question- I can't seem to get a handle on this. Can transit passengers access
the American Airlines Arrival lounge ? Is it inside the transit area or do you have to go thru immigration to get into the lounge .If so, is this a lot of hassle just to take a shower?

I have never been to CDG before or used a lounge while in transit.I really want to take a shower before proceeding to Terminal 1 and flying to Malaysia.
Thanks for any advice on how to find and access the American Airlines
Arrival Lounge .

I thought the arrivals lounge at CDG closed about 4-5 years ago. I remember visiting there before the closure and don't recall any recent posts about a new arrivals lounge there.

Are you confusing it with the Admiral's Club at the gate area?

Hello OP,

There isn't an Arrivals Lounge there. I had an 7 hour layover at CDG (from SFO heading to Prague) and I couldn't use the Admiral's Club either because it's only for *departing* passengers.

So you may have to wait until you get to where you're going.

I believe the AA lounge is for departing pax from that terminal only. You may be able to get by with the BP for the other airline.

There should be a lounge in T1 where you can buy a day pass

Thanks for the good information so far. When researching this on the web, there seems to be a lot of
contradicting information about which lounges have showers
and how an economy class passenger can get in the doors
of these lounges with a day pass .

If any others have had success finding a shower at CDG, please share your story.

Thanks!

As this is related to transfers at CDG that do not involve AF or one of its partner airlines, please continue the discussion in the France forum. Thanks for your understanding.

duglena,

Welcome to Flyertalk.

I've never seen an AA arrivals lounge at CDG. Perhaps you're thinking of LHR.

For AA-specific information on Flyertalk, the best place is the American AAdvantage Forum, http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/american-aadvantage-445/

not to flog the deceased equine, but the Admirals club at CDG is (a) only for departing passengers and (b) doesn't have showers

this info correct as of yesterday (14-Dec-2008).

I believe the departing passenger restriction does not apply if you are an AC member. Only if your access is based on your class of service or the like.

Well, in this case it does, as there is no access from the arrivals area to the departures area without a valid boarding pass for a flight departing from 2A. The OP is leaving for Malaysia from Terminal 1.

I am an AC member although I don't ordinarily change planes at CDG.

Isn't the arrival sequence at CDG immigration-baggage claim-customs-main terminal? If so, how would you go through immigration and security to the AC without an AA boarding pass?

arriving pax at CDG cannot get to AC

airport rules trump club rules. arriving pax can't get to the Admirals club at CDG, they are required to go through immigration and customs before exiting to land side. to get into the AC they would then have to become departing passengers, going through security, etc.

I was just there this weekend, this is the way it is at CDG.
