Getting to Orly

What are the options for getting to Orly Airport. We will be staying in or about central Paris.

We are planning to fly Easyjet to Rome. (No jokes please)

Flight options are 7:10 am or early evening. We have no trouble with early starts but how early depends on travel time to Airport.

Where in Central Paris?

The quickest way is to get RER line B to Antony, then to transfer on to the OrlyVAL (sit at the front if you can!), an automated rail shuttle that will take you right to each terminal. You can buy a through ticket from any metro/RER station.

If the flight times don't suit you, you could also consider the Artesia.

there are several options to get to Orly:

RATP (RER B to Antony and then OrlyVal) travel time from Chatelet ~25min 7.20 (earliest leaving Antony at 6am, gets you a few minutes later to Orly)

AIR FRANCE Bus (from Gare Montparnasse - Invalides) ~9 (from l'Etoile) ~10

RATB BUS service from Denfert Rochereau (earliest leaving at 5.35h) ~30min

taxi ~35

There is also a "Noctilien" night bus (bus N120), that goes through gares du Nord et de l'Est, Chatelet, Gares de Lyon et Austerlitz, Place d'Italie then to Orly-Sud on its way to Corbeil Essonnes. There is a departure at Chatelet around 4.30am (about 1/4 hr earlier at Gare du Nord/Est, and about 10 mins later at Gare de Lyon/Austerlitz), that arrives at Orly around 5.15am. There should be more info on it on the ratp.fr site.

For the evening flight, depending on where you are located in central Paris, it can be quicker to get on the metro to Villejuif Louis-Aragon (end of line 7) and then take the jetbus to Orly. The jetbus normally takes about 15 mins (I have never used it at rush hours, though). This would not work for the morning departure, however, as the first bus leaves Villejuif at 6.15am (and arrives at Orly at about 6.30am, which would be too late for a 7.10am departure).

Incidentally, these options are typically cheaper than the RER/Orlyval or Orlybus options.

Thanks for the advice

Now decided to put in a full day of museums on the Wednesday and travel to Orly Airport in the evening and stay in a hotel there. I have seen too many episodes of "Airline" to risk missing checkin

I am hoping though our hotel from night before will let us leave luggage otherwise plan is in danger of failing.
