Paris bus map?

Is it possible to get a map of Paris bus lines somewhere in Paris? I mean a foldable, readable map with routes tied to a city map (even if a stylized map).

I can't download the online maps into a manageable version, and I am always without large portions that don't print.

I'd be willing to pay for the map. Any good place to look?

My favorite bus map is the Plan 2 map available at some Metro Stations - it's foldable, readable and the routes are tied to a street/city map. Mine is starting to fall apart because it is my most used map. .

I got mine at the Opera metro station. Less lucky at the Concorde station where the various maps were in a locked room (you could see the maps/brochures, but no access despite it being a weekday during work hours). I believe that the FDR station may also have them. Also, if you're using the RoissyBus from CDG into Paris the map may be available on it as well.

I'll be back in Paris in late May (well, at least that's the plan); if you're going later, I would be willing to get one for you and mail it when I return home.

The best I've found is the Bus map published by L'Indispensable -- big enough to include all the routes and streets, and it folds to pocket size (about 3"x5"). I got mine at a newsstand.

That sounds perfect. Do you know if it's still being sold?

RE:Paris maps

The best I've found(for those of us who need glasses to read the tiny bus map on the back of the metro cards) is the Guide de Autobus Parisiens, a 4 x 8 paperback pocket guide that shows the bus routes posted inside Paris buses, with 2 facing pages dedicated to each route. I went looking for this when I couldn't find stops for return trips---they are never on the other side of the street from where you descended. You can buy them for 7E at the Metro store in the Les Halles RER station.

If you don't need it immediately, I can bring one back next week and mail it to you. Let me know.

Survival tip: I use Paris buses almost every week and I have never really needed a paper map. The Paris bus network is very dense and you will find huge bus maps on the back of most bus stops (at least the glass bus shelters have them, we call them Abribus). There are bus wall maps in all metro stations too, close to the exits if not on platforms. The ones displayed close to the metro exits have all the details and show you precisely where the bus stops are. Quite useful in some places like railway stations, the Louvre or Opera where there are dozens of bus lines and you might end up walking twice around the Opera before locating your bus stop...
