Flying to CDG
I'm wondering if anyone has a preference of which side of the plane to sit on while flying into CDG?
Is there even a view when flying in, or is the airport to far away from the city?

I've seen the city of Paris out the window in the past. There is a flight route that goes very close to the city because I see the planes overhead from time to time but obviously from others comments it is far from all the flights.

It's hit and miss. Departing from CDG, you might have a fantastic view over the western part of Paris (Tour Eiffel, Etoile, Bois de Boulogne) if your aircraft takes off westwards and then turns southwards over La Dfense. Best seats would be on the left (A).
Arriving into CDG, you would want to land eastwards and be seated on the right (but the view won't be as great as in the above scenario).
Back from the airport, there is still the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the Sacr Coeur when the RER train enters Paris...

CDG is 25 km N-NE of Paris, so quite far away.
But you can actually get a glimpse of Paris on approach if the weather is nice, I have both seen the Eiffel tower, the Montparnasse tower and La Dfense business district during approach.
My advice is to sit on the right side.
If the plane makes a landing from the west and the weather is nice, you may get to see a bit of Paris.
If the plane makes a landing from the east you will most likely not see much at all no matter on what side of the plane you sit.
So there you go...

Approach Concensus seems to points towards the right side of the plane. So I'm going to book on the right. I'll post a reply with any luck.
Thanks for the great responses.
