PariShuttle?

Read about shuttle services from CDG to our apartment in Paris. One that was recommended was PariShuttle (www.parishuttle.com), which seems to have fairly good rates. Five of us are going to a rented apartment, and for this number, the rate is 16 Euros each. Almost sounds too good to be true - so I would like to get some info from anyone who has taken this service. As we are going on March 2, we have to book the service a few days before the flight.

Anyone have any insight?

Thanks in advance,

DD

Try a search on "PariShuttle" on this site, and you will bring up my prior responses.

For 5 people, 2 cabs will likely be required....so that may not be a good option for you.

If you do the Parishuttle from CDG, be sure to follow their instructions to the T (I believe they ask you confirm your reservation before flight and then call them as directed upon arrival). I have had a pleasant experience using this service to get to CDG airport, but I have not tried using it from the airport.

This is not new at FT.

See post #6 in www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=469837

Shutair is the only transfer service that I've used with my family that hasn't let us down yet. And their private van rates have been a deal to us since we're sick of stopping at everyone else's hotel (in the shared vans that the OP priced)!

And their vans fit a group of 5 perfectly.

Enjoy paris!

PariShuttle at CDG

Thanks for your responses. Did not think to do a search - should have!

Have made reservations, and have paid on-line. Is it customary to give the driver a tip, or is the pre-paid voucher enough. Like a lot of people, I am not sure of the tipping in Europe.

Will post how we made out.

Most Europeans do not tip. In France, service is technically included (service compris). Never give 15% in restaurants b/c that would be 15% on top of included customary service. I usually give an extra euro or so for most meals...maybe a bit more if an expensive dinner or if the waiter is outstanding and/or helpful.

I'd consider giving the shuttle driver a few Euros if he helps with lots of bags, but he will not be expecting a tip.

Taxi fares are usually rounded up to a whole Euro, but I usually give euro or two if they help with bags (although they do charge extra for bags).

Parishuttle

Well, we are back from our Paris/London trip. Our use of Parishuttle went fine. Our flight was a few hours late, and when we called as directed, we were told where to wait for the shuttle - who would be there in 10-15 minutes. It wasn't much longer than that. He picked up us (5 people with luggage) and he had to pick up one other couple at another terminal. He dropped them off first, and then us. All in all, it was a service we expected, and we were very satisfied with the overall operation. I would recommend the service for anyone who does not know the subway system and does not know where they are going. Two of our party took the subway back to CDG at the end of their stay (one suitcase each), and the other three of us took the tube to Gard d'Noir for the Chunnel (2 suitcases each). It was a hassle, but we made it.
