Le Cinq
Has anyone tried Le Cinq at the Four Seasons George V Hotel? It's stratopheric rise in the ranks of the Michelin guides is unprecedented:
"Just two months after opening, Le Cinq and Chef Legendre were awarded their first star or "Macaron" from the Michelin Guide; within the first year a second star was awarded. In 2003, barely three years after opening, Le Cinq received a third Michelin star a distinction previously unmatched by a Parisian palace hotel." http://www.fshr.com/paris/dining/dining.html

My question is for those who have had the privilege of dining at Le Cinq: How was your experience? The food? The service? The decor?
Le Cinq may very well be the least expensive place one can order the lunch menu at a three-star restaurant in Paris. It's priced at only 60 but may rise in accordance with the new accolade. From last years Michelin guide:

I had dinner there (I was staying in the hotel) the night before Michelin gave them their third star. The room (in which they also serve breakfast) is pretty, decor very formal, great floral arrangements. As at Ducasse, they give women stools for their handbags, which I dislike. Service is typically leisurely. Extremely so. I had a very long wait for the check. I thought the food was good, but not as creative as at Pierre Gagnaire and not as hyperdelicious as at Lucas-Carton, which remain my favorites of the 3-stars.

At Le Cinq, in the Htel Four Seasons George V, chef Philippe Legendre has concocted a his-and-hers seven-course Valentine's menu for 250 euros a person, which includes the likes of carpaccio of langoustines with clams and roast baby lamb with harissa.

Looks like they added another 10 Euros to the lunches.
We were there this past Monday, and the 3 course prix fixe was 80 and the 5 course tasting menu was 120 Euros. We had the tasting menu, preceeded by a glass of champaigne, and then let the wine guy select the appropriate 3 wines as accompaniments for the lunch. Absolutely fantastic, but so was the total tab at 410 Euros. Ouch. Pain and pleasure.
