As someone scheduled to take the Thalys train from Brussels to CDG and then fly AF to Lisbon in a few weeks...I appreciate the info (but don't know what I can do about it, the flight is a FF ticket, sigh). Keep updating!

- Airtraffic, subway, and trains are significantly disrupted by strikes all day today. See www.dgac.fr for info about specific flights.
- Lifeguards on strike, some/all pools might be closed.
RichardInSF, you should understand that while advance notice is often reliable, certain strikes sometimes appear or disappear with no notice. While Thalys services are often less susceptible to strikes than other rail services, one can never be sure. The best bet, as always, is to allow as much extra time as possible.

I'm more worried about the AF flight CDG->LIS than the Thalys. This is a complex routing on Delta and AF thanks to it being the only combination I could get as a FF ticket (for the dates I needed):
SFO->JFK->Brussels->CDG->Lisbon
with me booking the train in between. Flight scheduled to arrive at 9am in Brussels and departing flight is about 3:45pm from CDG, normally that's lots of time.
I've been on the Thalys before, it is quite a nice service -- IF IT RUNS!

Update: Tuesday's (3 June) continuing strike is disruptive, but less so than the one on the 13th of May. The next big day of national strike action has been called for next Tuesday (10 June), the day the government's proposed pension reform package is to be presented to the National Assembly.

I live in Geneva and I'm planning to take the train to Paris for the next weekend (14-15 June). I'm concerned if the strike my somehow affect rail service.

The "les greves" web page referred to earlier seems the most reliable, although there was a 1 day SNCF strike today (June 10) and apparently no one had enough info to know in advance what trains might be affected.

Widespread transport strikes expected again on Thursday, June 19th.
Another resource for the Paris region (SNCF strike timetables for the regional Transilien and RER trains) is abcdtrain.com.

Seems to be no major strikes this week so far, apparently because it is vacation time and no one wants to spoil that? Any insights on this from anyone, this is the week we are using CDG and SNCF.
