SNCF Strike?

A friend of mine is going to Paris this week. She was told by a US travel agency that there might be a strike of the rail workers in the near future and as a result they were unable to book rail tickets.

I've searched around online and can't find any recent mention of a potential rail strike. Does anybody know more recent news about this?

There may ALWAYS be a strike there....
A popular joke is "don't ask when they are on strike, ask when they will be working". And this applies to SNCF, Air France, and so on!!!!!!!!!!!!

mea culpa... here is the latest news: a strike is planned on Tuesday, May 13th, which will affect several sectors including SNCF and air travel.
Sorry about this bad news...

Oh well.

Do you have a web site (preferably in English) that has more info about the upcoming potential strike? I was trying to search www.lemonde.fr, but my French is pretty bad.

One out of three TGV will run on 5/13 out of Paris. Local trains will be affected as well.

Thalys and Eurostar will run, except on the Paris-Brussels stretch.

Highway toll collectors will be on strike as well, so the autoroutes will be free
