RT-PCR Testing at CDG

Hi All,

I'm flying to DXB from CDG (with Emirates) in a couple of weeks, however, I'm located in London and will be arriving into Paris about 48 hours before my flight to DXB.

I think for DXB I need to get a RT-PCR test in France, it can't be in the UK. My flight arrives at 5.30pm and I tried the main booking centre at CDG (Terminal 2/3 I think is where it is located), however, the latest appointment I can find is 4.30pm. Does anyone know what my options are? I'd like to do my test as soon as I arrive so I can go about things in Paris before flying out to DXB.

the CDG test centers close at around 5 pm, so this is not an option for you. I don't think the test needs to be done in France. You can do it in UK as long as it complies with UAE requirements in term of sampling date & time. If you need to do it in Paris, you need to look for alternatives to CDG. At that time (> 6 pm); it will be tough to find a lab in town still taking samples. I know one lab in Neuilly sur seine who accepts patients until 8 pm. No appointment needed and they give results quickly (<24 hrs). It is located right at mtro Les Sablons on line 1.

Hi Goldorak, thanks for this. I called EK and they said I need to take a test in France for some reason, and they wouldn't accept a UK test. So this is my only option.

Do you know if these guys give you a fit-to-fly certificate?

This is utter non-sense. A test is a test. As long as it complies with UAE timing requirements for arrival in DXB, there is no valid reason to reject it

not sure what you mean by "fit to fly". The certificate you will have will be for sure OK to fly.

I completely agree with you, however, when I spoke to EK, the guy on the phone said the test has to be in France, and I told him why - and he said that is the rule. My biggest worry is that they cause an issue at check in, and my flight is Sat night at 9.30pm from CDG, where there are no test centres open. Is there any way I can get around this to ensure that doesn't happen?

Fit-to-fly is used heavily in the UK I think mainly. Basically all I mean is that it is a certificate rather than just an email or a text message.

I am 99.9% certain such a rule does not exist. You just spoke to an incompetent agent. But I understand you don't want to take any risk, so it is safe to take a test while in France.

You'll definitely have a certificate.
