Things to do in/around Chamonix?

A friend and I won a weeklong ski trip in Chamonix this March. Yay!

I like to ski and fully intend to do so as much as I feel like. But for the days/parts of days I don't feel like skiing, what do people recommend? I'm up for walking around town, taking the train elsewhere in the area for short day trips- anything.

We will be staying in Geneva for the last night of the trip, so I don't need to go there beforehand.

Thanks for any ideas.

Thanks. Looks like maybe it would be easy to get to Annecy or Courmayeur. Any other recommendations?

That's fine...I'm only planning on skiing a little. I mainly want to wander the town, eat and drink well, and see some of the surrounding area.

Enjoy yourself!

In Chamonix I've found it best wandering around, having lunch on a sunny patio, I am sure you will find at least one open! And do not forget to eat, delicious food! Like previous guy said: eat and drink

But don't ski while drunk.
