how much time between arrival and RER at CDG? [moved posts]

Are there crowds on Saturday mornings? Our flight arrives at 6:50 am, so we should be on the RER at what? 8 am? 9 at the latest. I can see crowds on a weekday, but wonder if this early on a Saturday that would be an issue.

CDG is never empty, even at 6am. However I don't think you will have a problem. Personally I can make it from the airplane to the RER in less than 15 minutes, but I never check bags.

For me, I usually take the RER unless I am traveling with someone who has a lot of bags. Or if the RER staff are on strike. Then I might take the AF bus or a taxi. Never a problem with either.

The limiting factor is how long you take to clear immigration and get your bags, and into which terminal you are arriving. The size of the crowd really does not matter. If your flight does arrive close to on time at 0650 you should be able to make it by 0800, definitely by 0900. But no need to worry, as the RER runs often and you do not need to reserve a seat on a specific train. Get there when you get here, buy your ticket and hop on the next train which will likely be leaving in less than 30 minutes.

They run every 15 minutes on Saturday mornings.

If you're flying in on AA, it's a long walk to the RER station, and if you're flying into Terminal 1 (e.g., on UA), you will have to take the CDG/VAL shuttle to the RER.

Thanks. We're on Useless (I mean USAir) coming in to Terminal 1. I was aware of the shuttle. We will have 1 or two checked bags. We'll need to stop at an ATM somewhere in the airport, and also want to find the tourist booth in terminal 1 to purchase our Museum Pass. They open at 7, so we should be there soon thereafter.

My attitude for that morning is 'we'll get there when we get there.' We're going all the way to Versailles that morning so will need to change trains at St. Michel. It sounds fairly easy to navigate - I've used transit systems in NYC, Boston and DC - so am not intimidated, just curious. Thanks again.
