Aer Lingus / BA earning tier points?

A couple of weeks ago I took an Aer Lingus flight DUB-JFK; in J, booked under a BA code share. I credited it to Finnair plus when I checked in with BA. (since I assumed it would be eligible as a Oneworld flight)

It didnt appear in my FP account; I filled in the claim missing points form and it turned up in my points balance this morning credited with 0 points. Is this correct?

Yes.

EI isn’t part of One World so no TPs.

But BA is, and this was booked under a BA codeshare.

Both the operating carrier and marketing carrier need to be OW members in order to earn points. The exception is AY marketed flights, they can be on whatever metal and they do earn points on Finnair Plus.

Even if you were crediting the flights to BA Exec Club youd still get zero TPs

Doesnt matter. Had you credited this to British Airways Executive Club, you wouldve earned Avios and TPs over there. However, with Finnair Plus you will earn nothing with Aer Lingus unless it has been booked with an AY code (which coming to think of it, Im not sure EI and AY actually codeshare yet?)

This is categorically incorrect. An EI marketed flight will earn Avios only towards BAEC. A BA coded EI operated flight will earn both Avios and TPs towards BAEC. In fact it credits as per the earning chart for BA!

Its not a recent change. BA and EI have had a codeshare agreement for quite a number of years now. BA codeshares, irrespective of the operating carrier (oneworld or not), have and will always earned TPs and Avios towards BAEC.
