TKU route end of story?
Just read on LinkedIn a chapter of local wastepaper(TurunSanomat, I dont have access, nor could read the whole story then), that AY plans not open TKU flights anymore. And replacing with a bus, which is no news as it used to be so quite a few times anyway…”buy an Y tix with AY, get a bus”-technical cancellation error…
Crossing fingers but not holding my breath.

With Ms Manner a product development specialist at Fazer, I assume they've already conspired and soon Will convert the entire brand to cheap chocolate bars. There is just no end to the influence of this man.

Pre-Covid TKU had a more AY flights than TMP. So I assume that TMP would at least rank same position if not even higher on the to be replaced by bus list.
But I believe it depends on SK. If they are back at TKU next year with a reasonable schedule AY will have a hard time to win this then with bus transport.
For at least around a decade there is no service on this route, So Mr Manner aligns perfectly with his predecessors.

the whole hel-mhq-tku show was just ramp down for tku. And bad move as it is clear that you will kill any route with such model quickly.
This is a bad wellsfargo show. If you reduce horses or cart , customer dont like the spedd or cart ride. If you ” optimize” routing with more stops, customers look for other alternatives.
wrong way to save.

Oh thats bad news. The train option is not as tempting from Turku as from Tampere.
Air Baltic takes will also take a fare share of the traffic. In the past there was also discussion for Lufthansa to return to Tampere. How about KLM which serve quite many airports in other Nordic countries.

Train could be good if there was a track to route Turku-Lentoasema-Tampere without changing at Pasila (to TKU) or Tikkurila (to TMP). I am told that the kehärata is already fully utilised by commuter trains though.
