The following AY short and middle haul flights are currently operated by widebodies:
AY1331/1332 HEL-LHR-HEL, A359, D
AY1337/1338 HEL-LHR-HEL, A333, D

AY1411/1412 HEL-FRA-HEL, A359, 6 (until 29OCT22)

AY1963/1964 HEL-DXB-HEL, A330, 135 (during winter 22-23)

As a rule, service will be the usual AY shorthaul concept both in Y and J, with the exception of IFE (available free of charge to all, with cheap in-ear headphones provided in J and Y) and internet (longhaul rules apply, ie Plats get free wifi for the duration of the flight, Golds and J get one hour). Y+ seats are sold as extra legroom seats with no special service, but cannot be chosen free of charge unless you're Plat or Lumo.

DXB is an exception, see https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/finn...dubai-dxb.html for details.

Can be parked, no problem. Like non-Schegen flight can be parked on Schengen gate.

Oh, the joys of coming from Asia, being parked at the Schengen side somewhere near gate 30 or so, leaving the plane via the back door (so C is the last out), being bussed to Gate 50-something and walking all the way back, while passing the same plane you deplaned 15 minutes earlier...

So yes, can be done and is being done, but I'd rather not.

Considering BD's location, I wonder if he wouldn't prefer VB over NB though.

And it’s delayed again: AY1337 now showing “New info at 16:30”... Also the 17:00 flight AY1341 delayed until 18:00 because of connecting pax (told the lounge staff).

Had my first widebody short haul with Finnair in many years. 333 from LHR, ~20 pax in J
-no greeting/chat, too many Plats onboard..? (No
idea how many..)
-50mins from TO to first drink being delivered to 2A
-no main course pre selection for Plats
AY failed on this one, hope it was just a bad day/luck. I dont mind the chat too much but but the drink/meal service was just too slow for a 2h20min flight.

A friendly OWE talk. An excess of cabin crew so that every one thought that it was a private plane. A very quick service of apperitives. The lack of meal choices was not evident but I was cleverly asked of the choice before the row in front of me. Constant asking if more drinks would be needed. The new pillow on every seat. A way better service compared with narrow body flights. Everyone was pampered. And yes, the Y was almost full, but C only almost half full. And I’m talking about the A330 service from London. It is sad if the experiences vary from excellent to subpar. All the magazines and newspapers free including an interview with Topi Manner in Kauppalehden Optio.

The AY1337 had arrived from Osaka in the morning. Just before the departure it was found that the plane had some problems with the auxilliar motor(something like this (?).) used only inte ground.

My flight AY1301 from HEL to AMS changed from A321 to A330 on 13th of May. Is this just a one-off?

It can be lack of 321s on that morning or high demand pax or cargo. Or FAM flight. Or what ever.
