How to book J fare

Does AY operate J fare on its own metal at all? Searching several routes, all full refundable biz fares are in D

Yes. Ask AY or your TA.

Out of curiosity, I actually wonder if they would sell a single J ticket in a year. I don't see any benefits over D, and much more expensive and difficult to book.

Why not? There is always last minute booking. And not sure what you meant by difficult - as mentioned above, a TA can easily choose such option.

Well J fares as defined by IATA offer the ultimate in flexibility and combinability. You should be able to combine a full fare J fare of any airline with any other airline to come up with some really funky itineraries. Obviously that's going to cost you a lot of money.

IATA discontinued its J and Y fares over a year ago though.
