The press-release only mentions he is Head of personal banking, but his carreer within Nordea seems much broader than that.

https://www.nordea.fi/sv/privat/topi-manner.html

Actually, after holding a CEO-position in Nordea, the "Head of personal banking" seems a step down, doesn't it?!

Also, why is Finnair highlighting this part of his carreer? Isn't "personal banking" just a fancy word for the high end privat customer segment, ie individuals with deposits in the bank exceeding €100 000-ish? While this surely is a very lucrative segment (for the bank and for its managers!) I fail to see the value in a heavy B2C business like AY.
PB works with a very small and specific part of the demographics. Any customer experienced gained from this work must be heavily distorted from the reality of Finnair's userbase.

There is some room for improvement for the web-tools.

I have received a ton of error messages today when making a few more complex reservations type: A-B-A-C and C-D-E/F-G-A

Not too complex, but difficult enough for the Finnair booking engine. The multi-segment tool crashes about 50% of the time...

No, that would be private banking. Personal banking means all banking services to consumers. Running them in all countries where Nordea is active is a higher position than being the CEO of Nordea Finland was.

Thank you! That's a major difference and then I understand it better.

Lucky you, only 50%... A-B-C-B-D is already enough to bring the engine down. (B=HEL)

But we have a dedicated thread for AY-IT

Should we invite the new CEO to our next DO? Or just ask for a FT-vent in HOTT?

Finnair’s Chief Commercial Officer and a member of the executive board Juha Järvinen is leaving the company to join Virgin Atlantic at the same time as the new CEO is joining.

Interesting to see who is taking the role and what changes the new CCO and Topi Manner will bring!

Newest trends include all automation and really nobody left to supervise these processes.
Yet for a completely random date in August on BUD-HKG flight in J the cheapest options are BUD-HEL-BKK-HKG, the last leg being operated by CX...

AFAIK, rev mngmt is and has always been inhouse and so I don't see how any changes should/would take considerable time to implement.

Also, not sure why HEL-BKK-HKG would be considered a loop-hole. In general, a direct is preferred over a connection and so pricing strategy is to price the direct higher. And actually, the BKK-HKG part allows finnair to optimize supply/demand. If there is high demand on HKG, your so called loophole allows them to sell more seats than are available on AY99/101 alone. A fine tuned rev mngmt takes advantage of this. A setup with cost + "a hefty markup" is a pricing strategy in the direct opposite direction.

I have no idea if you are right or wrong, but if they really are turning to margin pricing, I'd say that is the true incompetent course of action.

Thank God, Nordea is still a Swedish bank... or have they already moved HQ back to Helsinki? Anyway, during the laundering years they were Swedish.

Main office in HEL, and Nordea Bank Oyj is most certainly Finnish company.

The roots are swedish, govermental "Post och kreditbanken" buys "Nordbanken" in 1990 but Finland's number 1 Björn Wahlroos enters 1991. After mergers with Merita (FIN) and Unibank (DK) Nordea is created.

You're right, they moved the HQ to Finland last year
