A32B's are used on all the Euro routes, in winter it's naturally more common on the routes to the Canary Islands, Madeira, Dubai, Goa etc.

Bumping this thread, I've booked 1D on a plane with the configuration in post #17, but as I'm flying alone I'm wondering what the story is with 4C? I sat in the first row last time I was on this flight, and I like having nobody in front of me, but I'm wondering if 4C might be a better alternative.

Thanks in advance for any info.

A32B first row AY971

So A32B first row the go. On AY971 HEL-TFS row 1 is free, was looking window seat, which is also baby bassinet seat.
- If I pay 30EUR for 1F do they allocate me elsewhere if someone shows up with an infant?
- Is it possible to take 1F from OLCI 36 hours before departure?

Compared to 196 seat A321, on that version galley area is larger in front. But as I haven´t fly with AY for some years I rely on your seat pitch reports on A32B.

What about A320 configuration where seats 1D/1F don't exist, the first row has only 1A/1C. 2D/2F have been marked as purple first row seats in the seat map while 1A/1C are normal grey business seats.

Any comments, do the seats in row 2 have extra legroom or are seats in row 1 still better? In this case row 1 should be more private at least.

You should be able to keep your paid seats. When I flew HEL-HKG and had paid for the first row seats in Y, a fellow passenger with baby asked if they could take our seats. FA told we can keep our seats since we had paid for them.

You can also choose the seats in first row on OLCI if they still are available.

1A and 1C have similar legroom than 2D and 2F. I have used both and haven't noticed any difference.

And to be more precise, 2D and 2F are facing a cabinet. That's why 1D and 1F are missing on A320 and A319.

2 DF on the A320 are better in my opinion. They're more private, as you are not directly facing the galley, as you would be on row 1.

On A320, if travelling on your own, 1A would be my choice. Otherwise 2DF, as 1C is very exposed to the aisle.

Good pictures, kudos for you to post them here.

That is the reason why I don't like those bulkhead seats where you cannot stretch your legs under and the claustrophobic feeling of facing a wall.
