Amex xth night rate?
Just wondering whether anyone knows the rate code for the Amex xth night free (Amex Select) rate?
Or has this rate been discontinued? (which would be slightly odd, since it has been around for at least three years if not longer).

The most recent one I can find is PMXP, but that expired for bookings at the end of 2015. I hope they come out with a new incarnation soon.

I've also been looking for an Amex code, unsuccessfully, for the past few months. Couldn't find anything online, and couldn't find an FPC agent on the reservations line that could pull up an Amex discount either. I've been using CAA rates where available (which are great at some properties and non-existent at others), but otherwise, there's not a lot of flexible and non-prepaid (or partially prepaid) rates below BAR.

I've found the senior rates (if you're eligible) to be equal to or better than CAA in every case. You only need to be 45 to join CARP.

Too funny, because I actually looked into doing that last year when I saw what the discounts were. Alas, I'm not 45 yet, so I don't qualify... getting close though.

Their demise is a pity. I have spent many thousands of dollars with Fairmont that I wouldn't otherwise have done because of those rates. Without them I am more likely to spend my money elsewhere.

If you have a Platinum Card, FHR rates with complimentary night offer may be a good alternative. CRAZ8 on FT maintains a good site that clearly marks properties with complimentary night offers:
https://www.fhrnews.com/search/Fairmont
Note that if you're a Canadian cardholder, you often won't find the offers on the Amex travel site and will have to call in to PTS for the rates. FHR rates tend to be equivalent to BAR, so they tend to be provide a bit more value than the PMX? rates due to FHR amenities.
Downside is that there are much fewer participating properties.
